Up Close and Personal

While the majority of the wedding day is captured “observationally” - meaning I don’t really direct, stage, or even get too involved, later on in the evening, I like to be more of a participant in the photo.

I interact with the person in front of my camera, even for a split second - just enough to get a connection between me and the person I’m photographing.

I love working like this. I use a small camera in one hand, flash in the other, and shoot with a fairly wide angle lens that draws you into the image, as if you’re right there in the moment.

This up close and personal way of shooting is what I really enjoy doing, and I think it’s a great way to really capture the vibe of the day.
