ABOUT ANDREAS

Andreas is a Canadian documentary wedding photographer specializing in documenting intimate & private family celebrations held at single locations.

The families who invite Andreas to be a part of their wedding day value discretion, privacy, and prioritize enjoying this time fully with their close friends and family.

His approach is deliberately unobtrusive and very personal. On the wedding day, he becomes a familiar presence — often considered as simply as one of the guests or a member of the family.

This relaxed and personalized approach allows everyone to enjoy the day as it happens naturally, without the interruptions or distractions often associated with wedding photography.

With more than two decades of international experience documenting hundreds of multicultural celebrations and a background in design, architecture and marketing, Andreas works intuitively to create a curated set of one-of-a-kind photographs that are distinctive to each couple and their personal wedding experience.

Andreas’s work is influenced by the timelessness of classic black & white film, and he finds inspiration for his photographs from the momentary connections and interactions made between himself and the friends and family present at the wedding.

Everything begins with trust and connection — this is foundational to his ability to producing work that feels personal to that couple, so by taking the time to get to know each couple well before their wedding day, Andreas learns what matters to them the most, and how they want to be seen.

It’s with this familiarity, combined with his personalized approach and his interest in capturing genuine human moments that allows him to create a body of work that is unique to each couple and their families.

Born and raised in Toronto, Andreas now lives outside the city, in the town of Fergus Ontario, with his wife, an environmental toxicologist, and their two incredibly talented daughters — a University student studying music, and a high school student and aspiring athlete.

When he’s not spending time with other families with camera in hand, he’s usually out in the woods walking their two dogs, socializing at one of the local cafes, or in the kitchen preparing some sort of incredible meal for his family.

Andreas works closely with a small number of couples each year, ensuring that he’s able to provide the level of service that’s expected for this type of event.
