I could use any camera in the world — but the older Fuji Cameras still suit my overall style and aesthetic.
I began my career as a photographer of weddings right when digital photography began — my first camera was the Canon 10D, coming in at a whopping 6MP.
Over the next 15 years I spend something like 60K on the constant chase of upgrading cameras, lenses, and bits and pieces as things got better, faster, and also more expensive.
Fuji finally came out with their small cameras right around the same time that I was sort of “done” carrying multiple 1DS cameras on me for 12 hours.
Perfect timing.
Eventually I settled on the Fuji Xe3 and Fuji XT3 - two more than capable cameras. Is the XE3 technically a “pro camera” because it only has one SD Card? Many will say no — but then again, neither do the Leica Q series cameras and yet they are used for pro work every day. I just don’t have 20K for two of those cameras! So, for now, Fuji it is, besides, for 99% of the work I do, working at 24-26MP is MORE than enough.
Also, I’ve become very accustomed to the black and white look of the images, and love shooting them way up to 12,000ISO - grain, noise, whatever you want to call it, its good for me and the work I do.
